Summer Reading Lists

Hi and welcome to AP Psychology. We are going on a journey inside the human mind to find out how our mind works in relation to our behavior. To get you warmed up to the idea of "what is psychology" I have set out two tasks for you to complete over the summer. A summer reading list if you please. Oh and please don't wait till August 15th to take this on, do it now. Trust me when I say that you will be so fascinated by all of this you will need the whole summer to chew on your own thoughts.

1) Read the book "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For A Hat" by noted neurologist Oliver Sacks.
Looking for a link to Amazon click here.
What to do? Read the book and make copious (many) comments in the books margins, highlight interesting sections and overall get a good sense of the book. During the first week of school you will be asked to write a paragraph essay on a section of this book so be prepared!

2) Read the following web article

Read the article "Is Psychology a Science" by Paul Lutus.

Prepare an essay on this topic. Sort out for yourself your views on whether you believe psychology to be a science or not.
Email me with questions!!!

Have a Happy Summer
